Amritsar: Dal Khalsa lashes out at Israel’s aggression and the silent spectator role of the United Nations. In a harsh statement issued here today, Dal Khalsa claimed that world powers supporting Israel have knowingly or unknowingly contributed to reducing the UN to a redundant body.

The Sikh organization recalled and lamented that the UN remained a mute spectator even when Sikhs faced genocidal attempts and persecution in India in 1984.

Kanwar Pal Singh, political secretary of the pro-freedom Sikh organization strongly objected to the sorry state of affairs on the global platform.

He said the brazenness with which Israel’s Foreign Minister declared UN Secretary-General António Guterres persona non-grata and denied him entry to Israel must be condemned in the strongest terms. This is something disgusting that the international community should not take lightly, he argued.

With Israeli aggression against Palestinians showing no signs of abating and the recent increase in deadly attacks, including targeted killings in Lebanon and Iran, West Asia is on edge, the organization’s political secretary said.

About the Indian approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, he said that like the war between Russia and Ukraine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also lacked the political will in this case to put things together. ‘Double standards on controversial issues had become a hallmark of the Indian polity’.

Dal Khalsa asked serious questions and asked: What is the UN looking for? What is the UN planning? Why do countries that do not support Israel’s genocide policy speak out in the language that the Israeli leadership understands?

Dal Khalsa unequivocally condemns Israel’s destructive policies and practices against its neighbors and advocates statehood and sovereignty for the Palestinians.
