19 criminal gangs arrested in Vehari district

BUREWALA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 5th Oct, 2024) Vehari district police have busted 19 criminal gangs, arrested 46 gangsters and recovered stolen goods worth over Rs. 11.5 million in September 2024.

A police spokesman said 186 drug dealers were arrested, resulting in the seizure of 165kg of drugs and 4,424 liters of liquor. In addition, 96 cases were registered for illegal use of weapons and 131 offenders declared offenders and 21 absconders from the court were taken into custody.

The district police used technology and checked over 110,000 people and over 63,000 vehicles through the E-police Post App. This led to the recovery of more than 50 stolen vehicles and motorcycles.

Action was also taken against 1,661 overloaded vehicles for violating axle load rules, and 59 vehicles were seized for illegal use of gas cylinders.

Also, 4,631 driving licenses were issued to applicants. Police have successfully reunited six missing children with their families.

More than 10,836 citizens were provided with various police services at the police service centers.

In addition, the Police Protection Center handled 178 cases involving transgender people, women and children, while the Meesaq centers provided services to 102 citizens.
