Next meeting of the heads of the special services of the CIS member states

The 55th meeting of the Council of Heads of Security and Special Services of the CIS Member States took place in Astana, Kazakhstan, Azernieuws reports.

General Colonel Ali Naghiyev, head of the SSS, took part in the event. Before the council meeting started, the heads of delegations were received by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

During the meeting, discussions were held on the external threats to the security of the CIS countries, the challenges faced by the Member States, in particular the need to increase the effectiveness of joint efforts against international terrorism and religious extremism.

It was noted that modern challenges to the security of republics in the CIS region require constant vigilance and coordinated cooperation between special services. This includes regularly sharing operational data and experiences.

Moreover, the rise of transnational organized crime, illicit drug trafficking, cybercrime and illegal migration poses serious risks, requiring special services to take increasingly decisive measures against these issues.

The event included extensive discussions on the main tasks that security organizations face in combating negative phenomena and the necessary measures to be implemented in the future.
