Skriniar, Calhanoglu and Barella could testify in Inter Ultra’s investigation

Milan Skriniar, Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella are among the players who could be called to testify in an investigation into Inter Milan’s echoes.

This is evident from today’s print edition of the Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

In the past week a major scandal has broken out surrounding the ultras of Inter and AC Milan.

Nerazzurri make ultras of the Curva North and their Rossoneri counterparts, the Curva Sud, have been the subject of an investigation by anti-mafia prosecutors in Italy.

Prosecutors have made 19 arrests so far in their investigation. They allege illegal activities around match days and links with the mafia.

The most high-profile arrest of an Inter ultra was Nord leader Marco Ferdico.

Meanwhile, Luca Lucci, leader of the Milan ultras, was also among the nineteen arrested.

Now prosecutors are conducting their investigation. And as part of this they will interview a number of players, coaching staff and club directors from Inter and Milan.

The prosecutors are targeting anyone who has had notable contact with the ultras under investigation.

In the case of the Milan ultra group the Sud, prosecutors will question Rossoneri captain Davide Calabria.

And for Inter, coach Simone Inzaghi, vice president Javier Zanetti and prominent former defender Marco Materazzi are among those who have had contact with ultras.

But prosecutors may not stop there, reports Tuttosport.

The newspaper notes that prosecutors may call Inter midfielders Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu to testify about the contacts they have had with the ultras.

And then there is defender Milan Skriniar.

The Slovak is no longer an Inter player. He left the Nerazzurri last summer and joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

Skriniar’s decision not to stay at Inter and extend his contract was controversial.

And the former Nerazzurri defender decided to explain his decision directly to the fan.

Therefore, Skriniar met with Nord leader Ferdico and his deputy Mauro Nepi.

During this meeting, Skriniar explained his reasons for not staying at Inter. The Nord subsequently published a statement on the matter.

According to Tuttosport, Skriniar could be called by prosecutors in Italy to testify about his interactions with Ferdico and the Nord ultras, despite no longer being an Inter player.
