Investment

BGF has invested for a minority stake in ER Productions, a specialist in laser production, pyrotechnics and special effects.

Founded in 2007 by Marc Webber and Ryan Hagan, ER Productions has expertise in designing and delivering advanced laser and SFX solutions.

It partners with some of the world’s most recognized and high-profile events and artists. These include Glastonbury, Soundstorm Festival, Eurovision and the 2012 London Olympics; and artists Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Metallica, MUSE, Pete Tong, Robbie Wiliams, Fatboy Slim, Backstreet Boys, Katy Perry and Swedish House Mafia.

Headquartered in Dartford, ER Productions has a strong international footprint with offices in the US, Spain, Australia and Saudi Arabia.

Webber and Hagan will remain majority shareholders and will continue to lead a team that now approaches 110 people across the five offices.

ER Productions will now continue to expand its global presence, with a particular focus on the US to meet the growing demand for its services.

‘If you choose the wrong investor, there is no going back’

The company will also invest in manufacturing its own equipment from its dedicated factory in Dartford.

“We started the company with the goal of being the best-in-class laser and SFX provider for live events,” said Hagan.

“BGF’s experience in scaling growth will enable us to take a meaningful step forward in strengthening our commercial capabilities, developing cutting-edge technologies and expanding the company’s global footprint.”

Chris Morgan, investor at BGF, said: “ER Productions has earned its reputation as the industry’s premier laser and SFX supplier through its commitment to quality, professionalism and innovation.

“There is an increasing need to wow audiences at in-person events, and ER Productions is leading the industry with their creativity and quality of delivery. We are pleased to support Marc and Ryan as they continue to lead the company into the next phase of their exciting growth journey.”
