8 to 10 sand mafia goons brutally beat two men with sticks and pipes in Anuppur over land dispute; Video surfaces

Anuppur (Madhya Pradesh): A group of sand mafia brutally beat up two men with sticks, kicks and whatnot during a land dispute in Anuppur on Tuesday. The incident was captured in a video, which is circulating widely on social media.

The video shows eight to ten attackers hitting the victims with sticks, plastic pipes and fists without any mercy. On September 19, 2024, an incident took place in Pasla sand depot when the men returned home from the court and the sand mafia group attacked and beat them.

The victims, Mohammad Anwar and Mohammad Istiak, had earlier filed complaints against the sand contractor at the Kotma police station.

However, police reportedly pressured them to reach a settlement and even jailed one of the victims instead of taking action against the attackers. After his release, the sand mafia men targeted him again, leading to this brutal attack.

The spread of the video has put pressure on the authorities, forcing the Chief Inspector of Police to take action.

Cases have now been filed against the main suspects, including Ajay Yadav, Ravi Chauhan and Amit Bhadauria. Police have formed teams to arrest the attackers and bring them to justice.
