Burna Boy: Speed ​​Darlington regains freedom

Controversial media personality, Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed ​​Darlington, has been released on bail from police custody.

Human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju confirmed that he was arrested in Lagos last Friday and subsequently transferred to Abuja where he was detained.

The lawyer revealed that Darlington’s detention stemmed from a formal complaint filed by Burna Boy.

He was accused of defaming and cyberstalking the Grammy Award winner.

Darlington was released to his lawyer on Tuesday evening after complying with bail conditions set by the police in Abuja.

Adeyanju made this known late Tuesday in a post on his X account.

He appreciated those who contributed to the singer’s release and commended the IRT police for their professionalism.

He also commended the efforts of popular activist Omoyele Sowore and another legal advisor, Stan Alieke, in securing the release of Speeddarlington.

In a video that has now gone viral, Darlington had asked Burna Boy to explain how he won the Grammy Award for his album ‘Twice As Tall’, which mocked his links with controversial American rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’. who faces multiple charges. for sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
