Marvel’s new Venom Host waves a set of all-new Venom Variant Covers

By time Venom War is coming to an end, a new character will be the host of the Venom symbiote. Marvel is keeping this person’s identity a secret so it doesn’t get spoiled Venom Warbut we know that whoever they are, they will be starring in a new ongoing series titled Brand new gif. Al Ewing will continue to write the adventures of Venom, and artist Carlos Gómez will join him. In the run-up to Brand new gifMarvel is releasing a series of variant covers from a group of critically acclaimed creators to show off Venom’s new design, which adds a touch of golden glow to the symbiote suit.

The variant covers from Brand new gif #1 comes from Adam Kubert, Humberto Ramos, Skan, Stephen Platt, Erik Larsen and Chris Giarrusso along with a gold foil cover by Iban Coello, the first part of Giuseppe Camuncoli’s unifying cover series, a special Marvel vs. Capcom variant cover, and more. Brand new gif brings the Lethal Protector back to the streets of New York City after spending time on cosmic matters. Instead of worrying about a bleak future and time travel shenanigans, All-New Venom takes a scarier approach to storytelling, with the mystery behind the symbiote as one of the main plot points that will unravel during the opening storyline .

“So we’re moving away from the big cosmic thing,” Ewing told Polygon at the time Brand new gif was announced. “The pendulum swings away from that and back to a much more intimate, character-based story, but also has a lot of that ground-level superhero action, being less about cosmic entities battling within each other’s mindscapes, or mysterious zones beyond. time, and a lot more on the streets – swinging webs, swinging chains, do the Venom thing. It’s almost like my return to an old-fashioned superhero comic, but with a few twists that we’ll have a lot of fun with.”

Marvel reveals four suspects for the All-New Venom host

The four people identified as potential hosts for All-New Venom are Robbie Robertson, Madame Masque, Rick Jones and Luke Cage. The summary for Brand new gif #1 characterizes these four characters as “the journalist…the terrorist…the sidekick…or even the mayor.”

About Rick Jones, Ewing said, “It’s good to write a version of Rick who’s been through a lot of things and is the other way around.” This is a much more relaxed, joking and funny Rick than we are used to from me. I’m not going through it anymore…unless he’s going through something else now. Who can say…”

Next up is Madame Masque. “Madame Masque is another major suspect. She comes straight from the Gang warwhere we last saw her in a Spidey context. She has plans. Do these plans involve claiming a symbiote? Do they involve taking revenge on other gangs with an identity no one would ever suspect? The ultimate mask for Madame Masque? I can’t possibly comment…,” Ewing said.

“Robbie Robertson is someone else who was affected by the big gang war and Spidey. He has never been tempted by power or superpowers. Did that change after his son became so involved in New York’s criminal underworld and fell in love with the Beetle? Does Robbie want to find a way to control things in a way that you know he can’t do as a newspaperman? Is this one of the great secret identities, like Clark Kent, a newspaper reporter – or newspaper editor, in Robbie’s case – who hears about trouble and then goes out to deal with it?

And finally, we have Mayor Luke Cage: “We’ve seen heroes get symbiotes to get a little more done. And we’ve seen Luke Cage struggle to take to the streets and do what he loves while sitting behind the mayor’s desk. Would this be a way to do that? Could this be a way of putting on another identity, kicking the ass he knows needs to be kicked, but in a capacity where he doesn’t officially have to deal with it? He doesn’t have to answer questions like he would if he went out into the streets in his mayoral suit and did what he used to do for the community. Maybe a symbiote is the perfect cover for him. Again: who knows? I’m just saying words. These are all just possibilities…’

Brand new gif #1 goes on sale December 4th.
