HPD arrests Hickory man on misdemeanor B&E charge

47-year-old Albert Morrison, Jr. of 8th Avenue Drive SE in Hickory was arrested Sunday morning (Oct. 6) by Hickory police on charges of burglary and resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer. failure to appear on a second-degree trespassing charge. As of October of last year, he also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for second-degree trespassing.

Morrison was taken into custody around 11:10 a.m. Sunday at an apartment in the Sunny Valley complex on 3rd Avenue SE in Hickory. According to the HPD arrest report, he was combative at the time of his arrest and was not photographed or fingerprinted at the police station. Morrison was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $5,500 bond. He was still in jail as of this afternoon (October 9). An initial District Court appearance was scheduled for Monday (October 7) with additional court dates on October 21 and 28, all in Newton.
