Oshawa man charged in historical investigation of sexual assault involving minor

An Oshawa man has been arrested in connection with a sex abuse investigation dating back 28 years.

In February 2024, Durham Police began an investigation into historical sexual assaults involving a minor.

They say the victim, now an adult, came forward to police to report a history of sexual assault that had occurred in the years between 1996 and the present.

Following the investigation, the suspect was arrested by the police on Wednesday.

The 66-year-old man from Oshawa is charged with numerous crimes, including: Sexual assault (four counts) and Sexual exploitation.

To protect the victim’s identity, the suspect’s name is not being released.
