Taylor Swift leads the 2024 MTV EMA nominations for the second year in a row

The nominations for the 2024 MTV EMAs are in and Taylor Swift has once again taken the lead with a whopping seven nods. The categories she competes for include ‘Best Artist’, ‘Best Video’, ‘Best Pop’ and ‘Biggest Fans’. Following closely with five nominations each are Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Charli

Other notable contenders include Ayra Starr, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar and LISA, each earning four nominations. First nominees Chappell Roan and Tyla also participate and make a strong debut with four nominations each.

In the “Best Asia Act” category, regional talent shines with BINI from Indonesia, ILLIT from South Korea, Mahalini from Indonesia, MASDO from Malaysia and Japan’s Sakurazaka46 competing for the top spot.

This year’s EMAs feature 19 first-time nominees, including Kehlani and Tinashe for ‘Best R&B’, Disclosure and Fred Again… for ‘Best Electronic’, and Fontaines DC for ‘Best Alternative’. Notably, BTS’ Jimin has earned his first solo nomination in the ‘Best K-Pop’ category.

The ‘Best Collaboration’ category brings together some of the biggest names in music, including Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, Future, Metro Boomin, Kendrick Lamar, LISA and Rosalía, Peso Pluma and Anitta, Charli XCX and Billie Eilish, and Taylor Swift and Post Malone.

Fans can vote in various categories until November 6 at 6:00 AM SGT. The winners for the “Best Video” category will be chosen by MTV, while the “Biggest Fans” winners will be determined later via social media.

The 2024 MTV EMAs will be held at Manchester’s Co-op Live, marking the first time the awards have been held in the city. This year’s show celebrates the 30th anniversary of the EMAs and its return to Britain.

The event will be broadcast live in more than 150 countries, with on-demand access from November 16 in Southeast Asia via platforms such as Singtel TV (Singapore), Astro (Malaysia), First Media and Indihome (Indonesia). Additional international broadcasts will be available on Pluto TV and Paramount+.
