Bakersfield man charged with federal child exploitation and child pornography charges

A federal grand jury on Thursday indicted a Bakersfield man on two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of receipt of child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California.

According to the agency, Rafael Omero Plata Guerrero, 34, took videos of two minors engaging in sex acts between April 15 and August 26. Guerrero also received child pornography between June 1 and August 27.

If Guerrero is found guilty of the sexual exploitation charge, he could face up to 30 years in prison, and if found guilty of the child pornography charge, he could face up to 20 years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California. .
